Our Recruitment Philosophy

CSU/SigEp has a long tradition of recruiting and building nationally recognized community, industry, and military leaders.

Like every fraternity, we recruit during the traditional fall and spring “rush weeks.” But we believe by “rushing” to recruit people, we are actually forcing them to make long-term decisions from short-term experiences. Most importantly we are missing out on meeting all the potential new members (PNMs) who share our ideals of self-improvement but have no interest in the traditional “Frat” experience and we pride ourselves on offering a different fraternity experience.

This is why we recruit “year-round”. What does that mean? It means we are always on the lookout for PNMs and you can become a PNM after the traditional “rush” ends. This longer recruitment period allows us to ensure that you, the PNM, meet our high standard for membership and for us to show you that we can provide you with the environment, programming, experience, and housing you expect in return. Our standards include (but are not limited to): leadership, academic prowess, athleticism, and gentlemanly conduct. We understand that no man is perfect, but the one trait all CSU/SigEp brothers (current and prospective) share, is that we constantly seek to improve ourselves in these areas.
