Governor Roy R. Romer 1950

Roy grew up in Holly Colorado. He received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from CSU in 1950, and a law degree from the CU in 1952. A member of the U.S. Air Force, he was a military prosecutor in Germany.

From 1958 to 1966, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives and in the Colorado State Senate. Served as Colorado’s commissioner of agriculture in 1975, then as the governor’s chief of staff. He was appointed state treasurer in 1977.

Roy was elected governor of Colorado in 1986, 1990, and again in 1994. He was the general chair of the Democratic National Committee from 1997 to 2000. He was vice chair of the Democratic Leadership Council and chaired the Educational Commission of the States and the National Education Goals Panel.

Roy was named Superintendent of Schools of the Los Angeles Unified School District in June 2000, held that position until 2006.

Alex, Bruce, Bolton 2013

Alex has held the position of Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis since January 2020. During this time he has successfully navigated a freshman office startup as well as an extremely competitive steering campaign to place the Congresswoman on the coveted House Ways and Means Committee.

Alex has extensive local, state, and federal campaign experience in Colorado, Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida and New York. He also worked as part of the House Republican’s campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee, during the 2016 and 2020 cycles.

He was born and raised in Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's of Arts, Political Science.

Mayor Edward J. Tauer 1981

Was Mayor of Aurora, Colorado, serving from 2003 until November 2011. He was elected mayor after serving as an at-large member of the Aurora City Council from 1997 until 2003.

Ed holds a master’s in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. Ed worked as a marketing and product development professional in the software and telecommunications industry for 15 years before becoming mayor.

Ed was a member of the US Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities, the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority, the board of directors for the E-470 Authority, the board of directors for the Aurora Economic Development Council, the Metro Mayors Caucus and the Aurora Chamber

Mayor John Ostermiller, 1965

Born in Sterling, Colorado in 1942, John received his bachelor’s degree in business from Colorado State University in 1965 and his MBA degree from the University of Denver in 1970. John is a second generation SigEp his father was John V. Ostermiller ’32. Both are honored CSU Alumni John Senior received the College of Agricultural Sciences Honor Alumnus Award in 1972 and in 1991 John received the Jim & Nadine Henry Award for his service tot the University.

John began his business career at the Great Western Sugar Company as a staff accountant. His career prior to retiring in 2006 included financial and operational executive positions, primarily in the cable TV and telecommunication industries.

John was elected Mayor OF Littleton in 2003 after serving on the Littleton City Council since 2000. Prior to being appointed to city council, He served on the Littleton Planning Commission for 20 years.

During his term as mayor, John served on the Executive Committee of the Metro Mayors Caucus, on the Arapahoe County Mayors and Managers committee and was active in the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce. He also served as council liaison to Western Welcome Week and the City's fire rescue department partners, was a member of the 18th District Judicial Facilities Task Force and served on numerous Littleton Public School Committees.

John served on the first Board of Directors of the Leawood Metropolitan Recreation and Park District in 1976. He is currently (2018) the chair of the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District Board of Directors and has served as business administrator for the Littleton United Methodist Church since 2008.

James Kirk Kreutz, 1963

Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from CSU in 1963. He received his law degree in 1968 from South Texas College of Law. Jim passed the Colorado Bar and was sworn in April 1969.

Jim was appointed Assistant Attorney General of Colorado and former State Secretary of the Colorado Republican State Central Committee from May 1969 to December 1974. In 1974 he was a candidate for the Republican nomination for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Colorado.

He when into private practice in 1975, focusing primarily in civil litigation and administrative law.

In 1981 Jim was appointed Douglas County Attorney, where he was responsible for the criminal prosecution of all felony crimes that occurred within the jurisdiction of Douglas County, Colorado, he served until 1989, when he returned to his private practice.

Jim also taught Administrative Law in the para-legal program at Arapahoe Community College, taught Legal writing and administrative law at University of Denver Law School and is a member of Colorado Bar Association.

Mayor Kennith Mitchell 1954

Kenny graduated Colorado A&M in 1954. After graduation he served two years in the United States Air Force as Second Lieutenant.

Ken served the City of Yuma for 26 years, four as Mayor and 22 as a City Council Member. He was a member of the Yuma Lions, He was recognized as the Grand Marshal in the fair parade after serving 13 years as the Yuma County Fair Manager.

Mayor John Marvin Willhite 1952

Marvin graduated from Colorado A & M in 1952 Following graduation he  joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as an officer for four years. After his time in the service he moved back to Holly to begin his life in farming and ranching.

For many years Marvin served as the Mayor of Holly. He helped navigate the community through the 1965 flood.

Mayor Donald H. Hoch D.D.S. 1950

Elected to Westminster City Council in 1969, he served as Mayor from 1971-1973. Prominent developments during his tenure included; the annexation of land to the north, incorporating the 120th Avenue corridor and the City’s largest employer Western Electric; re-location and building of St. Anthony North Hospital and Front Range College.

Don was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Westminster, which was organized in 1960. Elected the Club’s third president in 1962, he consistently contributed to Westminster Rotary’s many community and international projects for more than five decades.

Don served on the Board of Directors of Citizen’s Banks of Colorado for more than 25 years and was a contributor to various committees at Westminster Presbyterian Church and Westminster Masonic Lodge.

Ray Edward Frisbie, 1932

President of the American Farm Bureau

After graduation, Ray became involved in farming, but during the first year was asked to do extension work for the University, where he spent a short time as an extension agent. He also spent four years as a vocational agricultural teacher. Once Ray joined the Colorado Farm Bureau he concentrated most of his time working with the local communities, Ray’s public relations work local farmers, analyzing their problems and formulating actions to improvement their economic and educational needs and to promote their well-being at the national level. Ray’s tireless efforts evolved into the creation of Farm Bureau’s state and county committees.

Ray served as a member on the boards of the Colorado Farm Bureau, the Kansas Farm Bureau, the American Farm Bureau and the Research Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was named Master Farmer of Kansas.

In 1972 Ray resigned from the American Farm Bureau Presidency to run for Governor of Kansas, but lost to the incumbent Governor Robert Docking. Ray was always involved with community projects and believed one should serve their community.
