What is SigEp All About?

SigEp is different from your typical fraternity! WHY? Because SigEp is a non-pledging, non-hazing, four-year, personal, academic, leadership, and professional skills development experience. We know that’s a mouth full, but it is true! Members learn to live their best lives through unique and rewarding programming tailored to fit their needs to prepare them for the journey of life that lies ahead.

Did you know, ninety percent of college students’ experience is spent outside of the classroom? It’s in these unplanned, unstructured hours that students discover their passions and plan for their futures.

At SigEp you will spend much of your time working and learning with your brothers. You will build close bonds while learning how to better yourself, work with others, lead, and give back to your community. You will accomplish all of this through our Balanced Man Program (BMP).

The Balanced Man Program is the centerpiece of the SigEp chapter experience and provides the lessons that today’s student needs to be successful during and after college. The BMP offers an experience focused on scholarship, leadership, professional development, and life skills.

Here is how the Balanced Man Program accomplishes those ideals:

  • Equal rights and responsibilities - Full membership upon joining

  • Continuous development - Growing throughout life

  • Accountability - Committing to SigEp’s high standards

  • Living the Ritual - Incorporating SigEp’s values into everyday life

  • Mentoring - Maximizing growth through guidance and support

... and takes the form of four self-paced challenges that span throughout the college career ...

Breaking Down the Challenge Program

  • The Sigma Challenge is a semester development program where you learn our values of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Additionally, you learn our chapters history, about local Greek Life, and form unbreakable bonds great friendship with the rest of the fraternity.

  • The Phi Challenge is a 1-2 semester development program and is a reflective stage. You figure out what your personal values are, what you want to do, and broaden your horizons. Activities you might do as a member of the Phi challenge include attending a leadership conference, working out with brothers, and coordinating a community service project.

  • The Epsilon Challenge is a 1-2 year development program that focuses on leadership. In the Epsilon Challenge, brothers focus on giving back to the fraternity. This can include mentoring a younger brother, leading campus wide events, and making a lasting impact on the Fort Collins community.

  • The Brother Mentor Challenge is a development program that extends throughout the rest of your college career and past graduation. This program focuses on the transition from college to the "real world" with the help of active alumni and volunteers.

At CSU/SigEp our programing focuses on more than just what it means to be “Greek.” Our programing focuses on four key areas of continuous self-development:
