Below is the first draft of what will be a very long effort to pay tribute to the Men of CSU/SigEp who gallantly served our Nation. We are fortunate, some Brothers have shared their stories with us, they will eventually will be shared online, While we have identified only a portion of those brothers who have served, we need your help so that we my pay tribute to all who have served and are serving. We welcome contributions of remembrances, photographs, and any information you have about our honored veterans and those who are still serving or just preparing to serve. Timothy, Dale, Halbrook, 1982, Served 15 years as an Intelligence officer in the United States Navy. Supported the Pacific Fleet in Hawaii, counter-drug operations in the Caribbean, counter terrorism efforts in the Europe, and force protection efforts on the Korean peninsula. Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 Tim was recalled to active duty and provided direct support to Operations Nobel Eagle and Iraqi Freedom as an intelligence watch commander deployed to NORAD/USSPACECOM. Awarded the Defense Meritorious Services Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Joint Services Achievement Medal, and numerous unit and theater citations.

Carl “Bud” Meline 1962, Navy, Served as an officer for 4 years aboard the USS Tulare throughout the Pacific, then the Tonkin Bay in Vietnam.  He was the ship’s Gunnery Officer, and later Boat Group Commander in charge of landing craft.  He was also qualified to command at sea.

His decorations included the Vietnam Service Medal with two Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, the Joint Services Commendation Medal and the German Army Military Efficiency Award in Bronze.

Kenneth, Leo, Kloberdanz, 1955, Initiated by CO Gamma in APR 1951, Harold graduated & was commissioned two years later. In October 1954, he earned his pilot's wings, and began a career that included logging over 6,000 flying hours during his 24 years of service. His Air Force assignments were many, he served tours in Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and was a member of Operation Deep Freeze Task Force for two years. But he considered the highlight of his career to be with the Plans & Policy Division at the Pentagon. He was proud to be a member of the staff that wrote the Air Force Plans and Policies for the return of the prisoners of war from Hanoi. His awards include the Legend of Merit & Distinguished Flying Cross.

Lt. Col Charles (Chuck) Simon 1954, Served active duty in the Air Force for 3 years and 25 years in the Air Force Reserves as an intelligence staff officer with duties at Air Defense Command, NORAD, and Pacific Air Command. He retired as a Lt Col. He was the area Air Force Academy liaison officer for 40 years.

Harold, Leroy, Felte, 1954, He received the commission of U. S. Air Force Second Lieutenant, went through pilot training and served as Single Engine jet Reconnaissance Pilot, stationed in Okinawa. Honorably discharged in 1958, He continued to serve as a USAF Reserve Captain until 1978.

Larry Birdsall, 1954, ROTC while pursuing his degree in Animal Science. Following graduation, he joined the Air Force as a second lieutenant in the 26th weather squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Lt. Col Dale N. Amend 1954 Ret, US Air Force, Received the Distinguished Flying Cross to his Bronze Star, 19 other Air Medals and a Presidential Unit Citation for his Vietnam service.

Norman Lee Roberts, 1953, Enlisted in the U. S. Navy after he graduated from high school and served in World War II. He then attended Colorado A & M University as an ROTC officer candidate. He graduated in 1954 and enlisted in the U. S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. He served our country with honor in Korea, two tours of duty in Vietnam, and served in Laos as a Special Forces Green Beret. In 1972 Major Norman Roberts retired from the U. S. Army.

Nathan S. Bushnell , 1950 WW II Army Veteran, Nate served in the 3187th Signal Battalion.

Vincent D. Leone, 1949  Enlisted in the Naval Air Corps program in 1943, while at basic flight training the war turned in favor of the Allies, his training was cut and transferred to the Naval Merchant Marine Cadet Corps. He served aboard a mine supply ship, Cape Trinity, in the Northern Pacific. He was at sea in Okinawa when the US dropped the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. His ship returned to the US when the Japanese surrendered. He then was honorably discharged in 1946.

He was honorable discharge in 1945. His awards include the Bronze Star.
